The newest player in the EV charging infrastructure market, tech innovator Source, has agreed a deal with Europe's large
Connecting over 2 million drivers to a vast network of more than 1 million charge points operated by over 500 charge point operators across all EU+ countries, the deal with Plugsurfing is significant news for Source's customers.
The agreement means that Plugsurfing's users will be able to charge hassle-free at Source's quickly growing network of ultra-rapid hubs. Plugsurfing acts as a critical infrastructure partner for automotive manufacturers like Polestar, Renault, XPENG and VinFast, major fleet operators, car leasing and sharing companies, and payment providers such as AllStar. Its offerings span fleet solutions, white-label apps, and Application Programming Interface (API) and Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) integrations for direct in-app and in-car system connectivity.
Source, which has now agreed partnerships with five major operators - Octopus Electroverse, OVO, Paua, Last Mile Solutions and Plugsurfing - plans to open 300 ultra-rapid charging hubs across the UK and Ireland over the next five years. All the company's hubs feature a number of 150KW chargers, which, based on industry accepted charging session data, would allow users to ‘charge and go’ in around 15 minutes.
From cutting edge interfaces and contactless payments to round-the-clock customer service, Source hubs are built for accessibility, reliability, and speed. Powered by renewable energy, along with unparalleled technology from TotalEnergies and the latest market-leading infrastructure from SSE, every charge is designed to be as clean as it is convenient.
Alice Aprile-Smith, Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Source, said:
“This partnership with Plugsurfing is excellent news for our customers, especially fleet operators who use AllStar. They can now charge seamlessly at Source hubs using their existing payment cards and maintain their usual invoicing processes. We're committed to making charging at our state-of-the-art hubs as straightforward as possible, and connecting Plugsurfing's 2 million users to our network is a significant step forward.”
